Viveek Sharma was born in Mumbai in 1968, lives and works in Mumbai, India.
Sharma received his master degree from the well-known J.J. School of Arts in Mumbai in 1994.

In 2009 Sharma was awarded by Scholarship Staatliche Kunstsammlungen, Chemitz, Germany, “Artist in Residence” and in 2004 by Maharashtra State Award for Artistic Excellence.
